Biography
Paula V. Duffy
Paula is a radio personality who co-hosts Sports Journey Radio's National Weekend Edition and provides weekly updates on the daily drive time edition of the show. It is broadcast on ESPN's 1240AM Maryland and can be heard live on sportsjourney.com. She became known as Leeza Gibbons’ “resident sportstress” on the radio program Leeza Live and she contributes weekly columns to other sports related Internet sites, such as FemmeFan.com. Formerly a senior corporate lawyer, Paula is often called upon by major media outlets to provide commentary about major US sports stars and institutions which frequently collide with the legal system.
Paula is an attorney with a sole practice, primarily focused on small entrepreneurial companies, licensing of technology as well as mergers and acquisitions; prior to that she spent 5 years as General Counsel at Vivendi Games and its predecessors, Havas Interactive, Cendant Software and the NASDAQ traded company Davidson & Associates, Inc. She worked for more than 11 years as an attorney for Sony Electronics both on the east coast and west coast and created and managed that company’s west coast law department, now located in San Diego.
A self proclaimed “sports-a-holic”, Paula most recently formed Incidental Contact, LLC, which features her Daily Dose of Duffy columns and podcasts, the instructional and fun “Woman’s Guide To…” line of audio books and Sports Knowledge To-Go packages.
Paula also offers personal coaching for women to bring them the news that they no longer have to be on the “sidelines” when sports are the topic of discussion or a game is on TV. Some want to learn the basics and fun facts related to the three major sports of football, basketball and baseball, to more easily meet people in a social environment which encourages easy discussion and friendship. Some may use their knowledge to ease their way through the corporate environment at their jobs and others may find a solution to being left out of a large chunk of time with the sports fanatic in their lives.
Paula’s personal merger goal was to turn her passion for sports into a business; she succeeded.
